Developer Alex Rose Games have announced that the tough as nails platformer Super Rude Bear Resurrection will be releasing in May 2017.
Super Rude Bear Resurrection is heavily inspired by Super Meat Boy, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Players take on the role of Super Rude Bear as they are tasked with getting through various levels packed with all kinds of dangers. Unlike Super Meat Boy, when Super Rude Bear dies players are immediately resurrected at the most recent checkpoint, but the corpse they left behind still exists in the level. This means that players can use their previously alive corpse as a way to protect themselves from the various pointy objects that are placed throughout the level. It’s an interesting mechanic and one that adds a unique twist to the gameplay.
