The official trailer for Summer of ’84 is here. And, if you’re a fan of everything Stranger Things, you’re sure to enjoy it. Everything, from the soundtrack to the cast and even the setting and tone, seems to hint that it was inspired by the popular Netflix show.

And, you know what? That’s okay. We’ll still be watching.

Plus, critics have been saying good things about it. JoBlo’s Movie Emporium scored it 8/10. Bloody Disgusting’s Fred Topel confessed that it “hit the sweet spot for me”. Film Threat promised that “you won’t be disappointed” and scored it 8/10 too.

Thankfully, the first trailer carefully threads the needle on story and spoilers by not giving away too much.

Teenager Davey Armstrong is a conspiracy theorist who begins to suspect that a neighbouring police officer is a serial killer. With help from three friends, Davey launches a daring investigation that soon turns dangerous.
