Blizzard has finally released further information for the upcoming, and final expansion for StarCraft 2. Legacy of the Void, the second stand-alone expansion, will be released on 10 November 2015. Blizzard released the information at the finals of the StarCraft World Championship Series this past weekend, which also included the opening cinematic for the expansion. And much like their previous intro videos, it makes a good case for a live-action movie.
What To Read Next
Blizzard first launched the sequel, Wings of Liberty, to the highly successful StarCraft franchise back in July 2010, which was followed by the first expansion, Heart of the Swarm in March 2013. Legacy of the Void will no doubt be focused on the Protoss, which will complete the full story from the Trilogy of factions. The closed beta began in March this year, which gave players insight to the new characters and units across all species, and was showcased at E3 2015, which included the three-mission prologue titled Whispers of Oblivion.
The pre-order for this latest expansion will include:
- The campaign’s three-mission prologue
- The multiplayer beta
- Automated tournaments
- Artanis Warrior
- Archon mode
The game will launch on Windows PC and Mac.
