South Africa’s Tweeting Honey Badger

Written by

We can all attest to the number of weird things on the internet, a few worth watching, while most are not for the general public. South Africa, too, has had a few of these, the latest sensation being BG, the resident honey badger at the Johannesburg Zoo. What’s special about BG, or his enclosure, is that he is able to send tweets by means of a specially-adapted enclosure, which takes live photos and uploads them, along with a caption, to the zoo’s Twitter feed. The installed motion-sensors detect BG’s movements as he trots from the jungle gym to the feeding bowl, which triggers the cameras. To catch up with BG and his movements, you can follow the team @ZooTweetsLive.
