Slimmer PS4 PlayStation 4
The new slimmer PS4 model’s internal architecture has been revamped, enabling the smart people at Sony to reduce its size by more than 30% and it’s weight by 16% compared to previous models. Not only is the new PS4 unit slimmer and lighter but it is also less power hungry as its power consumption has been cut by more than 28% compared to some of the first PS4 models. It was also announced that the new slimmer PS4 would include HDR (High Dynamic Range) support along with the PS4 Pro and all the previous PS4 models *2.

The new PS4 still has the slanted and angular design of the older models, albeit a more simplified version. The suggested retail price for the unit will be R5199.99 and R5999.99 for the 1TB Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare bundle. (Offers may vary by retail channel)

Below are the system specs for the new slimmer PS4 unit.

*2 All PS4 will support HDR by the upcoming system software update.

*3 The hard disk drive contains space that is available for users and space that is reserved for the system, therefore the actual space that is free for users is smaller than the total space stated in the document.
