Poor Jacob Tremblay. He keeps playing disturbed kids in creepy horror stories. Here he is again in another horror, Shut In, alongside two-time Oscar nominee Naomi Watts.
SHUT IN is a heart-pounding thriller starring Naomi Watts as a widowed child psychologist who lives an isolated existence in rural New England. Caught in a deadly winter storm, she must find a way to rescue a young boy before he disappears forever.
Strange things begin to occur when Mary experiences vivid recurring dreams in which she murders Steven, her catatonic son. “It’s not my son. It’s just a body that I feed and wash and clothe.” The usual jump scare tactics fill the Shut In trailer, which seems to be hinting at Steven as the villain.
“I had to act scared a lot with Jack (in Room). But I had to act scared (in Shut In) most of the time,” Tremblay previously said about his role in the film. “Tom’s a dark character. Not Batman dark. But he’s scared, has rings under his eyes and looks creepy.” Too cute.
Directed by Farren Blackburn (Netflix’s Daredevil, Luther and Doctor Who) and written by Christina Hodson, the film has a November 11th release date.
