Having been announced just a few short weeks ago, it seems as if the project has been in the works for quite some time before that. One of the most exciting movies I watched as a kid was the first RoboCop, a trend that didn’t follow in the later sequels. It seemed, at the time of the announcement of the franchise reboot, that this project was doomed from the start, more to do with how the last few movies played out and the almost cult status the movie had in the 80s. After watching the newly released marketing campaign for a movie that hasn’t even started filming yet, most pundits changed they views on the upcoming film. One can only hope that the directors will do this reboot justice.
The movie will star Joel Kinnaman, Gary Oldman, Samuel L. Jackson and Hugh Laurie and is due for release in 2013.
