Over the last few years, many gamers have been asking Sony to add the much needed external hard drive support to the PS4 and, at last, their cries have been heard. The PlayStation 4 is finally getting external hard drive support.
External hard drive support is a feature that is sorely lacking from the PS4. Although Sony has tried to make it as easy as possible to upgrade the systems internal storage, it remains a technical process. Luckily, those days are almost gone. Sony has announced that the PlayStation 4’s next software update will include external hard drive support.
The new update will allow gamers to upgrade their storage space by simply plugging a USB 3.0 external hard drive into the PS4. It’s that simple.
The new software update also adds a few more features including custom wallpapers, support to view 3D Blu-ray in virtual reality using the PlayStation VR and more simplified notifications.
Sony has not yet announced the release date for the new software update, but we can’t wait to get our hands on it. Thank goodness, we no longer have to delete our games each time a new one is released.
