It’s finally here. The PlayStation 4 can now play 3D Blu-rays, beating Microsoft to the punch in adding support to the console. Just last week we heard stirs in the waters about the feature being added in the 1.75 update. Today it has finally arrived and with it many cheers of delight for those with 3D compatible televisions. For many the lack of a 3D Blu-ray on release date was a deterrent. While there are a number of other items/features we’d like to see, like DLNA support, the competition between Xbox One and PS4 is likely to push these issues to the foreground and hasten their release.
Still it’s a victory worth celebrating. All you need now is a compatible 3D TV and the 3D Blu-ray films.
