After nearly a year of waiting, it’s been announced that hit anime series One Punch Man will be getting a second season which is currently in production.
The news was confirmed on Twitter yesterday by voice over artist Makoto Furukawa who voices the main character Saitama when presenting at the One Punch Man Fall Festival in Japan. The news has been anticipated since the first 12 episode series ended in December 2015. As of yet, no airdate has been announced.
One Punch Man, developed by Madhouse studio which produced the likes of Death Note and Vampire Hunter D, follows Saitama, a superhero that has become so powerful that he can defeat all villains with a single punch. After three years of training, he’s become too strong for any opponent to match yet still faces new threats. Over the course of the season one, Saitama takes on monsters of various sizes to climb up the hero ranking. Anime streaming site Daisuki streamed the series in its original run and available in South Africa.
