Sony has revealed that a PlayStation Plus account would not be required in order to play No Man’s Sky online.

No Man's Sky
Although players won’t need a PlayStation Plus account to play online, the game still needs to be connected to the internet in order for your discoveries (planets, creatures, and plants) to register with the game’s universal atlas. Thanks to No Man’s Sky’s 18 quintillion planets the chances of players running into each other are really quite slim although this can happen. Most of the interaction between players will take place by discovering planets, creatures, and plants that have been discovered and named by other players.

With the game’s release date  just around the corner we can’t wait to get our hands on it and start exploring the game’s universe.
