According to three separate sources, it would seem that the Nintendo Switch might be able to play Nintendo GameCube games.

Eurogamer has reported that the Nintendo Switch might be able to play Nintendo GameCube games through its virtual console program. According to the report, it would appear that there is currently three Nintendo-published GameCube games in the pipeline, Super Mario Sunshine, Luigi’s Mansion and Super Mario Bros. Melee.

This could be quite a big move for Nintendo as many gamers and Nintendo fans alike would love to be able to play some of the GameCube’s classic games. Eurogamer also reports that the Switch might be receiving support for the Wii U’s GameCube controller through the use of an adapter.

Nintendo hasn’t officially confirmed or denied the report. Here’s holding, thumbs, toes and whatever else is necessary to make this happen.
