Nintendo E3 2018

With all of the big E3 conferences done, Nintendo wasn’t going to be left lagging behind and came out swinging. During their E3 2018 conference, there was some surprise reveals about some of our most favourite Nintendo franchises. Nintendo just got us excited about owning a Switch.

Fortnite: Battle Royale – We all knew it was coming

As has been rumoured for the past few weeks, Nintendo finally revealed that one of the most popular games on the planet will be heading to the Nintendo Switch. While the announcement that Fortnite was coming to the Switch might not have been a huge surprise, what was surprising is the fact that it is available now.

It was also revealed that that Switch version will support cross-platform play with the PC and Xbox One versions. Now, you can get your Fortnite fix anywhere and anytime. It truly is a great age to live in.

Octopath Traveler – Classic RPG with a twist

A game that has flown under many gamers’ radar, Octopath Traveler from Square Enix, combines everything we love from old school RPG’s and ads their own unique twist to the mix. The game has some beautiful visuals mixing the old and familiar with the new.

Nintendo revealed that the game would be releasing on the Switch in July 2018. However, a demo would also be available from the 14th of June 2018. This is a lovely little RPG that has us more excited than some AAA games have.

Super Mario Party – Itsa party time!

Nintendo also unveiled Super Mario Party, which naturally introduces some interesting twist to the party game formula the series is known for.

The game can be played in handheld mode with just one Joy-Con. The mini-games will mix motion controls with more classic gameplay for an exciting experience. Players can even pair off in teams using multiple Switch devices.

The party is set to begin on the 5th of October 2018 when the game launches.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate – Fight!

The enthusiasm was palpable when Nintendo revealed the latest entry in the Smash Bros. series, called Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

So what makes this version so ultimate? Well, Nintendo announced that all the characters who ever appeared in any of the previous games will be included in the Smash Bros. Ultimate roster. That is quite a few characters to get excited about. Judging from the trailer, the game will include all the elements we love about the series.

Fire Emblem: Three Houses – Get your RPG on

The much-loved strategy RPG series Fire Emblem is getting a new entry in the series called Fire Emblem Three Houses.

The trailer that was shown during Nintendo’s E3 conference revealed several new gameplay mechanics but even with the new additions, the game seems to stay true to the core mechanics fans of the series love. The gameplay also looks surprisingly gorgeous drawing upon the game’s cutscenes.

Nintendo has stated that the game is set for release in 2019.
