Avengers: Infinity War

The wait is nearly over. Avengers: Infinity War is almost here and, as the new trailer suggests, it’s turning out to be one of the biggest superhero films ever.

“So this is it, it’s all been leading to this!”

While the first trailer, released last year, provided fans with the first glimpses of the heroes interacting with each other and the oncoming threat, the new trailer gives us so much more. Here we get a look at Spider-Man, Doctor Strange, Iron Man, Ant-Man, Vision, Wasp, Black Widow, Black Panther, Thor, Captain America, the Guardians of the Galaxy and many others as they prepare to face off against Josh Brolin’s Thanos.

“There was an idea…”

Marvel has teased Thanos’ involvement in the MCU ever since his appearance at the end of 2012’s The Avengers. Now, after a really long wait, we’ll finally get to see Earth’s mightiest heroes take on the space-villain. The story will focus on Mad Titan Thanos as he travels across the galaxy to collect the six Infinity Stones – Space Stone, Reality Stone, Power Stone, Mind Stone, Soul Stone and Time Stone. As President of Marvel Studios Kevin Feige explains:

“He’s from a planet called Titan that’s no longer inhabited because of things that he thought he could help prevent, and he was not allowed to do that. What he feared most happened, and the planet and everybody on it basically went extinct. He vowed not to let that happen again. He thinks he sees the universe going down the tubes. He thinks he sees life expanding outward unchecked. That will bring ruin, he believes, to the universe and to that life.”

Directed by the Russo brothers, Avengers: Infinity War has a huge cast that includes Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark (Iron Man), Chris Evans as Steve Rogers (Captain America), Chris Hemsworth as Thor Odinson, Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner (Hulk), Scarlett Johansson as Natasha Romanoff (Black Widow), Jeremy Renner as Clint Barton (Hawkeye), Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff (Scarlet Witch), Paul Bettany as the Vision, Chris Pratt as Peter Quill (Star-Lord), Zoe Saldana as Gamora, Dave Bautisa as Drax the Destroyer, Bradley Cooper as Rocket, Vin Diesel as Groot, Pom Klementieff as Mantis, Karen Gillan as Nebula, Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Stephen Strange, Tom Holland as Peter Parker (Spider-Man), Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes (Winter Soldier), Chadwick Boseman as T’Challa (Black Panther), Paul Rudd as Scott Lang (Ant-Man/Giant Man), Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Cobie Smulders as Maria Hill, Benedict Wong as Wong, Letitia Wright as Shuri, Danai Gurira as Okoye, Winston Duke as M’Baku, Tom Hiddleston as Loki Laufeyson, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, Benicio Del Toro as Taneleer Tivan (Collector), Tom Vaughan-Lawlor as Ebony Maw, and Josh Brolin as Thanos.

“As the Avengers and their allies have continued to protect the world from theatres to large for any one hero to handle, a new danger has emerged from the cosmic shadows: Thanos. A despot of intergalactic infamy, his goal is to collect all six Infinity Stones, artefacts of unimaginable power, and use them to inflict his twisted will on all of reality. Everything the Avengers have fought for has led up to this moment – the fate of Earth and existence itself has never been more uncertain.”

The official release date for Avengers: Infinity War is April 27th worldwide (moved up from the original May 4, 2018 date).

It’s almost like a fantasy based story. All the characters joining and the magic going on. I think it will be fun to watch.
