2013 looks to be a great year at the Box Office. With the increasing popularity of comic book genre movies and those similar, we’re in for quite a few major treats. Grab your popcorn and some silk-screened T-shirts ‘cause it’s going to be a big one!

Join billionaire playboy Tony Stark for the third time as he dons his iron smart-suit and, with the help of trusty Jarvis and loving Pepper Pots, fights to defeat the evil and limitless The Mandarin (played by Ben Kingsley). This year, Stark will find his whole world destroyed at the hands of his enemy and embarks on an adventure to bring those responsible to his own kind of justice.

Star Trek: Into Darkness

This year, the crew will discover an unstoppable force of destruction within their organization as they are called back home. A fleet has been detonated and leaves the world in a state of crisis. Captain Kirk (Pine) will lead a manhunt into a world fraught with war to a one-man weapon of mass destruction.

The Man of Steel

I am super excited for this one, even though Lex will not be appearing. This version of Superman (Cavill) will go back into his origins, starting from his arrival on earth from destruction-bound Krypton, through high school and into his career as a journalist for the Daily Planet, working under the infamous Perry White (Fishburne) and alongside the ball-busting Lois Lane (Adams).
Starring: Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Russell Crowe, Laurence Fishburne and Michael Shannon.

The Wolverine

In the second part of Wolverine’s origins, and still in search of his true identity, Wolverine must travel to Japan to train as a Samurai warrior. Hugh Jackman will once again star as Wolverine, this time joined by characters Silver Samurai and Noburo Mori.
Starring: Hugh Jackman, Famke Jansen (rumoured), Bryan Tee and Will Yun Lee.

Thor: the Dark World

After the events of the Avengers, Thor must now face battle with Dark Elves lead by the ever-vengeful Malekith, who is threatening to plunge the universe into darkness. Join the entertaining God of thunder (Hemsworth) as he battled to protect his loved ones, both on earth and in Asgard.
Starring: Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Anthony Hopkins and Tom Hiddleston (special appearance by Stan Lee).
