After rumors and a listing of the game on Target’s international site, Warner Bros. Entertainment has finally announced Middle-Earth: Shadow of War, the sequel to Shadow of Mordor.
Warner Bros. Entertainment has revealed Shadow of War with the release of an epic trailer. Talion and Celebrimor, the protagonists from the first game, will be returning to the sequel as they once again go behind enemy lines in hopes of turning Mordor against Sauron. Players will be wielding a brand new ring of power as they confront deadly new enemies and fight for Middle-Earth’s freedom.
Vice President of Monolith productions confirmed that the much praised Nemesis System would be making a return.
“Following the amazing reception to Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor, we massively expanded every dimension of the game, including the world, the story, the RPG systems, the core gameplay and of course the personal player stories of the Nemesis System. As lifelong fans of Middle-earth, we are so grateful to have the privilege to bring to life the most incredible fantasy world ever created in a new way, for a new generation. With Middle-earth: Shadow of War, we can’t wait to see the amazing stories players are going to create and share.”
The game will be set between the events of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings as the game sets out to continue the original narrative of Shadow of Mordor.
Although no release date has been announced, we do know that the game will be releasing on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. We can’t wait to return to Middle-Earth.
