Marvel’s Wolverine/Hulk Hybrid Is Coming Soon

There is something weird happening at Marvel that we need to talk about. Back in February, Marvel Editor-in-Chief Axel Alonso tweeted a teaser image with the words “Under Construction” featuring a Wolverine/Hulk hybrid in a lab. Now, Marvel’s latest creation, Hulkverine, has arrived and it actually looks interesting.

Marvel’s Wolverine Hulk Hybrid Has Arrived

It’s hard to know exactly what to make of Hulkverine, a character that combines Hulk and Wolverine’s abilities. He has the healing factor, heightened senses, and adamantium skeleton of Wolverine and the size, strength, rage of the Incredible Hulk. Just think of the horror that would be set upon the world. The dangerous new hybrid’s creation is currently being explored in Marvel’s latest Weapon X comic book series, Weapons of Mutant Destruction. Of course, it’s up to the current Hulk and the Weapon X team, which consists of Old Man Logan, Sabretooth, Domino, Warpath, and Lady Deathstrike, to stop the experiment or deal with the repercussions.

It’s a crossover event that has been built up in various comic books, including Weapon X #1-7, Totally Awesome Hulk #19 – 22, and Weapons Of Mutant Destruction: Alpha. Totally Awesome Hulk #19 is the official prelude.

  1. I’m confused with the metal Adamantium. How will he go from banner to hulk once the metal is set its set. Adamantium does not shrink nor does it grow.I guess they plan to keep him hulk 24/7. Pretty cool though.

I’m confused as to why this is needed. Hulk already has a healing factor that rivals Wolverine. He’s nearly indestructible and doesn’t need adamantium bones. He can destroy just about anything with his fists, so claws are unnecessary, too. What do the Wolverine powers bring to the table?
