The first Mad Max movie hit the theatres in 1979, starring Mel Gibson as Mad Max Rockatansky. The plot was a simple one, in which an Australian policeman seeks revenge on the motorcycle gang who murdered his partner, wife and son. In 2014 (or late 2013), Max Rockatansky will return to the big screen in Mad Max: Fury Road, played by Tom Hardy.

The apocalyptic film has been in the works since 2011 after being confirmed in late 2009. There have been many reasons for the delays in filming, none stranger than having to relocate the set from Broken Hill, Australia to Namibia, after heavy rains in the region transformed the then desert into a lush landscape of wildflowers. Filming finally began in July 2012, almost a year after the original schedule, and was wrapped up on 17th December 2012. Director, George Miller, announced that he and his team would be returning to Namibia in early 2013 to complete a few pick-up scenes, while CGI work is expected to continue during the course of 2013.
