Jeepers Creepers 3 Film Premiere Canceled After Protest Threats

The early premiere of Jeepers Creepers 3 has been cancelled after protest threats against the film’s director Victor Saliva, a convicted sex offender.

Jeepers Creepers 3 has been in the works for many years now and not without its share of hurdles, bumps and extreme controversy. There’s no getting around it really. Salva has been convicted of some pretty awful things in the past and served 18 months of a 3-year sentence following his conviction. Many believe these crimes should disqualify him from participating in creating more films, however, after some struggle, a lot of boycotts and turbulent production, he has managed to get a Jeepers Creepers follow-up off the ground.

The horror sequel was set to have its world premiere TCL Chinese Theater in Los Angeles on September 13th but due to heavy protests, the screening has been cancelled. This message was recently sent to customers who purchased tickets for the event:

Dear Valued Customer,
We would like to inform you that due to events beyond our control, the screening event hosted by @Moviedude18 for “Jeepers Creepers and Jeepers Creepers 3” on Wednesday September 13, 2017 will no longer take place at the TCL Chinese 6 Theatres. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause your party. We have worked with Fandango to refund your purchase directly. You should see the refund in your account within the next few days. We would like to offer you free passes. You may redeem them at the box office upon your next visit by showing this email or we can mail them to you if you provide us with your mailing address.

Again, we apologize for the inconvenience.

Promoter/Organizer Kory Davis gave a news conference following the email and elaborated on the circumstances:

I want to make it 100% clear: This is not Davis’ fault; over the years he’s produced many successful screenings throughout Los Angeles, including an incredible double-feature of Bride of Chucky and Seed of Chucky last month. These truly are circumstances beyond his control. The event was legitimate and was intended to be the world premiere of Jeepers Creepers 3.

After many false starts and setbacks, principal photography on Jeepers Creepers 3 finally began on February 15, 2017 and finished April 18. According to one of the film’s stars, Gina Philips, a fourth instalment of the franchise is already being planned. Whether or not that will happen remains to be seen.

Synopsis: Taking place right after the end of the first film, Sgt. Tubbs teams with a group of hunters from Wheaton Valley to find and stop the creeper before the end of its 23 day feeding frenzy. The Creeper fights back in gory glory

Jeepers Creepers 3 will be released on September 26th and stars Meg Foster, Gina Philips and Jonathan Breck.

oh grow up. if we took that mentality then everything that ever happens to anyone is a life sentence. I once got attacked by a friend, it still crosses my mind every once in a while and it caused some trust issues with future friends so that means the time he spent arrested should have been for life because Im a victim for life? Get a brain that works. I’m watching this movie and if it’s good, Im recommending it to friends.

boycotting movies hahahaha that is as lame as people praying outside of Marilyn Manson concerts. I couldnt look myself in the mirror if I was that lame

Well for one thing: it makes the movie even more creepier. It’s sad though, some good movies get raked over the coals because of the writer/director’s sins. The only people suffering is us, really. Look at Ender’s Game. The movie was boycotted by various crowds, but it could have been so much more than the Killing Game series, or Maze Runner, there was so much continuity, with a huge world. But no. Orson Scott Card had to be a very verbal homophobe.

What these crybabies dont seem to care about is the tons of employees (including actors) who get negatively affected by the protestors. So good job idiots, making all the cast and crew suffer because you never care about how your actions affect others.
