Could Jason Todd be Joining The 'Injustice 2' Roster Soon?

With NetherRealm announcing that their next big Injustice 2 character reveal would be happening on the 28th of April 2017, there has been a lot of speculation regarding the mysterious new character. One theory is that it might be ex-Robin Jason Todd.

Injustice 2 fans on Reddit have come together and offered a theory that actually makes sense.

The theory starts off by looking at the date of the reveal. The 28th of April 2017 falls on a Friday, which is strange as all the other reveals were done on a Thursday.

So what makes this date so special? Allow me to put on my tinfoil hat for a moment. Although many think that the 28th could refer to the 28 characters that will form part of the game’s roster, it has been speculated by Redditor MstaJ that the reference could indicate a Jason Todd/ Red Hood reveal.

Why? Well, the date 4/28 could be a reference to Batman #428, which is the notorious issue that sees the Joker killing off Jason Todd, who was at that time still fighting crime as Robin. After supposedly being killed off by the Joker, Jason Todd returned as the vigilante Red Hood. It has also been speculated that this could also indicate that the Joker will return.

The flames of conspiracy are further fanned by the fact that the game’s director, Ed Boon, posted a Tweet on August 2016 asking which version of the Red Hood (the Jason Todd version or the Joker version) players would like to see included in the game.
