Inside the Human Heart-The Award-Winning 3D Model

Many of us are familiar with what the heart looks like, more or less, and how it beats, pumping the average human 5.6l of blood around the body thrice every minute. But how many of us can attest to knowing exactly how the muscles work, or how each of the tissue fibres pulsate during each beat? Well, researchers at University of Tokyo have designed and created an animation that’s the most accurate ever by using a supercomputer to calculate the motion of contracting proteins right down to the most minute of details.
