Dave Ranyard the studio head for Sony VR, and the man overseeing several PlayStation VR demos has announced that he would be parting ways with the developer.

Ranyard has been working at Sony’s London Studio for 17 years, and is leaving the company to pursue new virtual reality projects in an independent capacity.  In a statement Ranyard said that “2016 is going to be the year of VR, so it’s the perfect time for me to take this step into independent development”.

What we know so far of the PlayStation VR is that it will launch later this year, although Sony has yet to announce a price for it.
