According to Codemasters’ official news site, the release for GRID 2 has been confirmed for 28th May 2013 in the US, while the rest will wait a few more days for the 31st May release. The game has also been confirmed for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360. In addition, pre-orders have now started, which will give those early adopters a few bonuses:
- Pre-orders from GameStop will earn you the “Super-Charged Edition,” which consists of a McLaren MP4-12C GT3 Special Edition, Nissan GT-R SpecV road car, two new circuits around the Brands Hatch GP circuit, and all five Yas Marina routes.
- Those who pre-order from Best Buy will receive the “IndyCar Edition,” which includes the Dallara IndyCar along with the IndyCar Pace car, and two new routes for the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
- And lastly, those ordering from Amazon will obtain the “HeadStart Edition,” which has the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren 722 GT car, and additional discounts for the car upgrades store in online gaming modes.
The original GRID is still one of my favourite racing titles, and still stands up against its rivals today. This sequel has been four years in the making, and should deliver great racing action to compete against Forza Horizon.
In the meantime, you can check out some behind-the-scenes and gameplay footage for GRID 2.
