Sony has finally revealed when the incredibly angry God slayer, Kratos, will be making a return in the latest God of War game. It’s sooner than you might have thought. God of War will be released on the 20th of April 2018 on the PlayStation 4.
Although the game still follows Kratos, it could be considered a reboot. The game’s protagonist will be taking on creatures and gods from Norse mythology instead of those from Greek mythology – as he did in previous games. Basically, it has a less angry chain wielding Kratos and more bearded axe-wielding Kratos.
Not only will he be taking on a whole new pantheon of gods and wielding a mean looking axe but he is now also a father (gasp!). The god slayer who tears his foes limb from limb has to learn to be both a father and mentor to his son, Atreus. Together the two set off on a deeply personal quest.
The game will come in various editions, including the Limited Edition which consists of a SteelBokk case, an Artbook and a few in-game goodies. There will also be a Collector’s Edition, which comes with an awesome looking 9-inch statue of Kratos and son, a cloth map and a SteelBoook case.
