Go Go Hasbro. Hasbro Acquires Power Rangers Show And Charters

Toy maker Hasbro’s acquisition of Saban Entertainment means that not only will it have access to all of its franchises but, more importantly, it will now own the rights to the Power Rangers. Hasbro owns many popular franchises including My Little Pony, Monopoly and Transformers, among others. The company not only profits from toy production and sales but has begun to place a lot more emphasis on the entertainment side of their business, such as movies and TV series, which allows it to diversify its revenue streams.

The first wave of Saban products the toy maker will be focusing on includes the Julius Jnr, Popples and Luna Petunia franchises which are planned for a 2019 release.

The Power Rangers brand is a well-loved and established brand with a passionate fanbase. Acquiring the franchise means that Hasbro will be able to tap into this fanbase to help increases its revenues.

“Twenty-five years after launching Power Rangers, I believe the future for this brand has never been greater,” said Saban, the founder of Saban Brands and creator of Power Rangers.

With the toy maker industry moving more towards entertainment, Hasbro seems to have made a wise choice in acquiring Saban Entertainment. Only time will tell if the acquisition will bear any fruits in the long run.

We are excited to see what the Hasbro has in store for these newly acquired Power Rangers franchise.
