George Lucas Actually Likes Star Wars: The Last Jedi

Written by

Star Wars creator George Lucas has given Star Wars: The Last Jedi a thumbs up, praising Rian Johnson’s visual direction. Already Certified Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes (94%), it seems like Lucas, who has been very critical about the direction of the franchise, thought the 8th episode was “beautifully made.”

A representative for Lucas, Connie Wethington, provided THR with a comment from the Star Wars creator. “In speaking with director Rian Johnson after viewing, [Lucas] was complimentary,” she said.

This is a great endorsement for Star Wars: The Last Jedi and a great boost of morale for Johnson.

While the comment “beautifully made” doesn’t exactly comment on Lucas’ thoughts about the story, it’s a lot more complimentary than his thoughts on the previous instalment, The Force Awakens.

Disney paid Lucas, who wrote and directed the prequels, a whopping $4.05 billion to buy the franchise in 2012. Since then, he hasn’t been actively involved with any of the decisions regarding Star Wars. Even still, it’s great to hear that he approves of Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

Just got done watching the news Star Wars: The last jedi

I hated Force Awakening because it ripped off from three of the old movies but this is my take on the new movie…WITH OUT SPOILERS

Good thing that they made a original STORY for this one. No cheating this time around.

For a two and half hour movie in the star wars universe, it’s kinda slow pacing compared to what you would expect from Star wars.
They tried to change it up a little with a couple of plot trist that you “shouldn’t” have seen coming.
They tried to make a story out of it without drowning it in action.
The actors have fallen into thier roles now and the old cast did well.

You can see that Disney was very concerned about white washing the cast, very diverse cast this time around..

And of course we have to say goodbye to a beloved character.

They dedicated the movie Carrie Fishers

I give it 4 out of 6 star
