Temple Run is arguably the most popular endless runner game in Android and iOS history. With over 170 million downloads (and one of the top 25 downloaded games on iOS ever), you know that there is something that makes this game special. It was slick, fast paced, the graphics were good and the idea was clever.
Temple Run 2 builds on the success of its predecessor with improved graphics, great visuals, smooth game play and extra things for the main character to do. The controls are still the same and are very responsive – just like the original.
Where the first game took you to swamps and other lowly places, Temple Run 2 goes high into the mountains. You have sweeping panoramas in the background as you traverse the different terrains, swings down ropes and even ride a mine cart through old abandoned mines. The new game feels much more epic in its scale, and with the new features, it feels a lot more like Indiana Jones.
What I also appreciated about the original game was that Imangi kept updating the game to be as good as possible. Plus, they actually listened to suggestions from people.
Its free, it’s addictive and it’s the perfect little timewaster game when you have to nothing better to do. With daily and weekly challenges, the game is sure to keep you busy for a while. With more than 50 million downloads on Android alone already, this game is sure to be another runaway (excuse the pun) success for Imangi!
