With Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 just around the corner, the trailer for Thor 3, or rather Thor: Ragnarok has arrived. Drop what you’re doing, unless it is hot, then rather keep holding it.
The trailer starts with Thor captured and hanging upside down. “Now, I know what you’re thinking. How could this happen? Well, it’s a long story” he narrates. And then we see Cate Blanchett’s Hela destroy Mjolnir. This is followed by shots of Asgard in flames.
From the opening moments when we first hear Led Zeppelin’s Immigrant Song, we can tell that Thor: Ragnarok will be a little darker. Also, there is no denying the influence that Guardians of the Galaxy has had on the Marvel franchise. There is something about the way it has been shot that feels familiar.
In Marvel Studios’ “Thor: Ragnarok,” Thor is imprisoned on the other side of the universe without his mighty hammer and finds himself in a race against time to get back to Asgard to stop Ragnarok – the destruction of his homeworld and the end of Asgardian civilization – at the hands of an all-powerful new threat, the ruthless Hela. But first he must survive a deadly gladiatorial contest that pits him against his former ally and fellow Avenger – the Incredible Hulk!
