Fantastic Four Is Returning To Marvel Comics As The Fantastic Two?

Written by

Fans are more than ready for the return of the Fantastic Four to the world of Marvel comic books. The good news is that their return is imminent. The bad news is that the Fantastic Four have become the Fantastic Two.

Reed Richards, Sue Storm, Johnny Storm and Ben Grimm just can’t seem to get a break. Their big screen films are failing at Fox and they have been missing in action from the Marvel universe for quite some time now (ending in April 2015 at issue 645).

Marvel Comics Editor-In-Chief Axel Alonso took to Twitter to announce their return, well sort of:

The image is of Ben Grimm, aka Thing, wearing the classic Fantastic Four belt, except the 4 has been replaced with a 2. The description simply reads, “It takes 2”. This heavily implies that Marvel’s popular supergroup will probably return with two members only, and one of them will be Ben Grimm.

Following the events of Secret Wars, Grimm joined the Guardians of the Galaxy and Johnny Storm joined the Inhumans. Reed Richards and Sue Storm are off in a multiverse somewhere trying to repair the destruction caused by the war. Whether or not they will all reunite remains to be seen.
