Since the current console generation launched we have been seeing more, and more of our favorite games from the previous generation being remastered.
Well, it seems that EA might be open to releasing Mass Effect remasters according to EA studios executive vice president Patrick Soderlund. In an interview with Game Informer Soderlund strongly hinted that we might see a remaster of the Mass Effect games in the not too distant future, but stopped short of actually confirming this.
“There were some that did it before, but I think there is even more clear evidence that this is something that people really want. The honest answer is that we are absolutely actively looking at it. I can’t announce anything today, but you can expect us most likely to follow our fellow partners in Activision and other companies that have done this successfully.”
Initially, EA indicated that they would rather invest in new IP’s than remaster old titles, but it seems the success of recent remasters, such as The Uncharted series, have convinced them that there might be some profit in it after all. I personally wouldn’t mind playing the previous Mass Effect games on my PS4 or Xbox One before the next installment in the series, Mass Effect: Andromeda, releases.
As for news about Mass Effect: Andromeda, Soderlund didn’t say much although he did mention that the game was on track to make it’s Q1 2017 release and that we might even see some gameplay sooner than expected.
