As gamers, there are only a few things in life that can interrupt us when embroiled in a serious gaming session. These sometimes include power outages, nagging hunger, toilet breaks (although there are ways around this), and worst of all excruciating back pain. Now, thanks to EVETECH and DXracer, one of those could essentially become a problem of the past. Fortress of Solitude was fortunate enough to be invited to the South African launch of the DXRacer gaming chairs.
EVETECH, suppliers of gaming PC’s, components and gaming laptops, are the South African distributors of the DXRacer line of gaming chairs. The event was held at their offices in Centurion South Africa on the 25th of February 2017.
Upon our arrival, we were escorted to an area where our tired and weary behinds could find solace. The launch area setup consisted of Gaming PC’s where we were able to challenge each other in a few “friendly” matches of Overwatch. While this might already sound like the best way to start a weekend to some, the most exciting and “comfortable” part of the setup was the DXRacer gaming chairs.
Now, while some might say that “a chair is, a chair, is a chair” (which initially was my reaction as well), it is only once you’ve placed your rear into one of these chairs that you realise what a big difference it could make in your gaming life.
DXRacer, the company behind the DXRacer chairs, initially started out as a company that developed racing seats for use in the automotive industry, and while you won’t have to worry about being in a high-speed accident while gaming, the seat does offer the same kind of comfort one would expect in a high-end vehicle. The company’s main focus was to create ergonomic chairs that would promote health conscious computer use and this shows. Each chair consists of a full steel frame that provides stability and sturdiness during those intense gaming sessions. This, along with the use of only the highest quality materials, means that you will be able to rack up loads of hours gaming in your DXRacer chair.
While these chairs might be considered an expensive luxury, to those that have the extra cash lying around I would recommend that you try out one of these chairs – especially if you find yourself spending most of your day on your behind.
