“You like truffles? You got to get in the dirt with the pigs,” a voice narrates. While this unsettling teaser doesn’t reveal too much footage or much of the plot, it does show the psychological side of the series. The show seems like a mix between Criminal Minds, True Detective, and Hannibal and will be based on the non-fiction 1995 book Mind Hunter: Inside FBI’s Elite Serial Crime Unit.

“Imagine what it takes to bludgeon someone to death–the lust for control, the feeling of arousal…”

An agent in the FBI’s Elite Serial Crime Unit develops profiling techniques as he pursues notorious serial killers and rapists.

Jonathan Groff and Holt McCallany star as Mindhunter‘s FBI agents. David Fincher, Asif Kapadia and Andrew Douglas are among the directors helming the 10-episode first season which releases in October. Fincher has a long history with Netflix and helped create House of Cards in 2013.
