Amazon has announced that a new cartoon series based on Double Fine’s game Costume Quest will be heading to Amazon next year.
The Costume Quest cartoon is being created by Frederator Studios, who is also behind shows like The Fairly Odd Parents and was founded by Adventure Time producer Fred Seibert. The show seems to be aimed at 6 to 11-year-olds and follows the premise of the games quite closely.
“The show stars four kids facing off against the dark forces lurking in the shadows of their sleepy town of Auburn Pines,” Amazon says. “To overcome obstacles and achieve their goals, they must learn to unlock and master the magical powers of supernormal costumes–with each costume comes a new set of transformations and powers.”
The voice cast will feature some well know voice actors like Kevin Michael Richardson (The Animatrix, The Simpsons, Family Guy), Sam Marin (Adventure Time, Regular Show), Rob Paulsen (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Animaniacs), and Frank Welker (Aladdin, The Real Ghostbusters).
Seibert has been in the news a lot lately. He is also working on an upcoming animated series based on the Castlevania games.
