While caught up in the hoo-hah on the casting of Ben Affleck as Batman it seems we missed one other casting confirmation rumour. Breaking Bad star Bryan Cranston has reportedly been cast as supervillain Lex Luthor in the Man Of Steel sequel, alongside Ben Affleck as Batman and Henry Cavill as Superman.
Cranston’s involvement with the film is no surprise to those who have been following the project since the announcement of Superman vs Batman. The actor was asked about the sequel last week and although he refrained from spilling any beans on the subject, he looked guilty as charged. According to Cosmic Book News, he is said to have signed a six-appearance deal with Warner, which means he may have more chances to challenge Superman in future films, including the Justice League film. Apparently the announcement won’t arrive until the Breaking Bad series finale rolls out at the end of September. Other rumours include Matt Damon being considered for Aquaman or Martian Manhunter and that Mark Strong might return as Sinestro, the Green Lantern mentor.
I’m sure most people will be glad if this pans out to be 100% true.
