DICE have revealed more about its upcoming French themed Battlefield 1 paid DLC titled They Shall Not Pass.
The They Shall Not Pass DLC will let players battle it out on four new French-themed maps, Verdun Heights, Fort Vaux, Soissons, and Rupture. The DLC also adds the French army and a new game mode called Frontlines that has been described as a combination of Conquest and Rush. Players will also get to drive brand new vehicles like the behemoth-class tank, the Char 2C, and the St. Chamond tank. Lastly, the DLC adds a new melee-focused class called the Trench Raider that uses his club and an impressive arsenal of grenades to dispatch of his foes.
Battlefield 1 is a first-person shooter that emphasizes teamwork. The game is set in the period of World War I, and is inspired by historic events. Players can make use of World War I weapons, including bolt-action rifles, automatic and semi-automatic rifles, artillery, flamethrowers, and mustard gas to combat opponents. Melee combat was reworked, with DICE introducing new melee weapons such as sabres, trench clubs, and shovels into the game. These melee weapons were divided into two groups: heavy and light. Players can also take control of various armored vehicles, including lights and heavy tanks, armored trucks, torpedo boats, biplane aircrafts, an armored train, Reconnaissance vehicles, a Dreadnought and an LZ 30 Airship, as well as ride horses into battle.
No release date has been announced yet, but we can’t wait to try out the new maps and vehicles.
