It was revealed by publisher 2K Games that Battleborn would require a continuous connection to the internet in order to play both the multiplayer and single-player campaign.
2K confirmed that the reason for this is, so that experience points players earn through the game’s story mode can carry over to multiplayer and vice-versa.
In Battleborn players earn experience points through the game’s persistent progression system. This helps the player level up both their individual character and player profile command rank.
The constant connection to the internet also protects and maintains the integrity of the player’s data should there be a hardware malfunction.
Battleborn will be releasing in May 2016 on Xbox One, PC and PS4.
Below is the new story trailer for the game.
