Even though the movies haven’t even been released yet, it seems fans of the Splinter Cell and Assassin’s Creed franchises could look forward to a sequel for each of the movies.
According to a report from film producer and distributor, Catchplay via Variety, CEO Daphne Yang said the following about the two movies: “they are both adaptations of successful Ubisoft games and would make ideal sequels”. Catchplay is the co-financier on both movies which were originally part of a three movie deal between Catchplay and New Regency, the deal also included The Revenant.
The Assassin’s Creed movie is set to release in December 2016 and stars Michael Fassbender, Marion Cotillard, and Jeremy Irons. It is being directed by Justin Kurzel.
The Splinter Cell movie is expected to release in 2017 if all goes according to plan, and is being directed by Doug Liman and stars Tom Hardy.
