Rovio have released yet another edition to its Angry Birds lineup. This time, however, you will not be able to use your smartphone to get your kicks, but rather via Google Chrome browser. The game is a co-branded webgame, which will offer a new level for every F1 race, starting with Silverstone (the next race on the F1 calendar). The new game is named Angry Birds Heikki, and is available online.
Many of you might be wondering who this “Heikki” is. In short, Heikki Kovalainen is a Finnish F1 racer for the Caterham F1 team, who has been sporting the Angry Birds helmet during races. Unless you’re an F1 fan, this information doesn’t clear any confusion. So what does Angry Birds and F1 have in common? Since Rovio itself is based in Espoo, Finland, the connection is obvious. With the global trend of strange partnerships, the F1 and Angry Birds collaboration isn’t that hard a pill to swallow. No doubt we’ll see associated merchandise in the not too distant future.
Check back on the 11th July for the new level, Hockenheim. Also make sure to check out the Official Facebook page to unlock “Heikki Power.”
