You can make a wonderful movie with a limited budget. You can even make a wonderful horror movie with a limited budget. What you should never do, however, is aim to try and make a blockbuster style movie with a limited budget. As in The Wicked, all your efforts end up looking cheap and laughable. Of course, that isn’t the worst problem this movie has.

The Wicked review

There is a legend in a town of a witch who seeks vengeance on anyone who damages her house in the woods. Naturally, a group of horrifically offensive teenage stereotypes go into the woods on a dare and cause all kinds of problems by stirring her up. Silly teenagers, when will you ever learn? Nevertheless, I was rooting for the witch all the way through, as these unpleasant characters and wooden actors made me wish for death upon all of them. The back of the DVD cover for this has a teenage girl getting into a bikini in a small part of the corner, and this completely unnecessary horror trope showed me everything I need to know about this film, that it was so empty of any substance that was all they could offer us.

The Wicked movie review

This is an utterly terrible movie best forgotten by mankind. It offers nothing we haven’t seen done better before, and knowing our luck, centuries after mankind is extinct, aliens will land and find this movie when all of our other culture has eroded, and they will use this film as the marker to judge us all. So well done Director Peter Winther, you made us look stupid to the aliens with your ugly movie, I hope you’re proud of yourself.
