5 Incredible Superhero Fan Films That You Must Watch

We’re living in the era of content, whereby anyone with a camera and editing programs can create their own film. Okay, maybe not everyone should create videos, because we’ve seen some of the South African metal industry’s music videos and, yeah, let’s leave it there. That said, it’s an exciting time to be alive right now if you’re a content creator.

Naturally, the ability to easily create and publish videos has inspired a handful of talented film-makers to delve into the superhero genre. Through crowdfunding, self-funding and their parents’ bank account, many of these fan films have come to fruition – and some of them are really good.

Proving we’re slaves to our craft, we’ve filtered through hours of YouTube videos to find the very best superhero fan films for you. Without further ado, here are five of the best below.

  1. Joker (The Dark Knight) vs Joker (Suicide Squad)

  2. Why you should watch it? The film was made by Ismahawk, the same team who created the Nightwing: The Series back in 2014.

  3. The Punisher: Dirty Laundry

  4. Why you should watch it? Director Phil Joanou and producer Adi Shankar managed to bring Thomas Jane back as the Punisher for this short film.

  5. Spawn: The Recall

  6. Why you should watch it? It makes 1997’s Spawn look like an Asylum release.

  7. Batman vs Darth Vader

  9. Truth in Journalism

  10. Why you should watch it? Starring Ryan Kwanten as Eddie Brock/Venom, this is a black-and-white documentary that does Spider-Man’s famous foe a little differently than from what we’ve seen before.
