FIFA 17 Release Date Revealed in E3 Teaser Trailer

FIFA 17 Gets Release Date

With a few days to go still until this year’s E3 conference, many game developers and publishers have stolen a march on the event, as the fight for social coverage and hype hots up before the event. EA is no different the many others, having released an official teaser leading up to the 12 June 2016 announcement of its next FIFA franchise installment in the form of FIFA 17.

More excitement was generated with the additional announcement that the game will be powered by Frostbite gaming engine, the same engine used to power the likes of Need for Speed (2015), Star Wars Battlefront, Mass Effect: Andromeda, Mirror’s Edge Catalyst, EA PGA Tour, and Battlefield 1. VP and executive producer Dave Rutter said in an earlier statement that the switch “unlocks a whole new world of possibilities.” Additionally, EA also worked with four leading footballers to create new innovations, which will be revealed during their E3 press conference next week. The footballers include Anthony Martial (Man. United), Eden Hazard (Chelsea), James Rodriguez (Real Madrid) and Marco Reus (Borussia Dortmund).

FIFA 17 will hit the shelves starting on 27 September 2016 in North America, and worldwide two days later, and will be available on PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and Windows PC. The Frostbite engine game, however, will only be available on PS4, Xbox One and PC versions. Stay tuned for next week’s official reveal.
