During EA’s investor day briefing, EA Studios boss, Patrick Söderlund spoke about the much-criticized missing single-player campaign in Star Wars Battlefront.
“It was a conscious decision we made due to time and being able to launch the game side-by-side with the movie that came out to get the strongest possible impact.”
DICE General Manager, Patrick Bach initially told IGN, when the game was announced, that it would first and foremost be a multiplayer focused game. Söderlund acknowledged that the company had learned from their experience as well as the criticism they received which might indicate that the sequel could have a dedicated single-player campaign.
“Star Wars Battlefront came out [but] we got criticized for the depth and breadth of it. So as we look at why that was, we have to go back and course-correct that for another version if we were ever to build one.”
Here’s hoping that they have truly learned from the criticisms about the single-player campaign as adding this to the sequel would definitely get more people interested in it.
