Following the official launch of the BlackBerry PRIV over the weekend, the first BlackBerry smartphone to run on Google’s Android firmware, BlackBerry has released official images for the new flagship. The device will launch with Android’s current latest version, 5.1.1 (Lollipop), has a 5.4” screen with a 1440x2560px at 544ppi. The screen also has a curved edge, much like the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge, but not as pronounced. These specifications alone are enough to be the envy of many, but the BlackBerry PRIV goes a step further in offering a physical, QWERTY keyboard. While the unit may be sporting the Android OS, there is a specific drive toward security with BlackBerry’s version, which brings enhanced privacy and productivity.
Other hardware specifications include: 32GB internal storage, 3GB RAM, Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 Dual-core 1.8 GHz Cortex-A57 & quad-core 1.44 GHz Cortex-A53 CPU, Adreno 418 GPU, 18MP rear camera, and 5MP front camera.
The downside? It’s only expected to launch in Q1 of 2016. Enjoy the images.
