There has been a notable absence in terms of Need for Speed titles, the most recent being Rivals, launched in November 2013, after seeing a succession of titles each year for more than a decade. EA’s franchise has seen more than 140 million in sales since the first release in 1994, with a number of different developers and genres during this time.
A few short days back, EA and Ghost Games (the developer for the last instalment, Rivals, which was actually well received by fans compared to recent years) announced the latest racing game that will see the reboot of the entire franchise. The release is schedule for some time in Q3, and will be available for Origin on PC, PS4 and XB1. More information, including a live gameplay demo and full announcement will be available at E3, which start on 15th June 2015. For now, we leave you with the official press statement and teaser trailer.
“Need for Speed returns in Fall 2015 to PS4, Xbox One and PC in an action driving experience that unites the culture of speed. The new NFS game will feature deep customisation, authentic urban car culture, a nocturnal open world, and an immersive narrative that pulls you through the game.”
