It comes as no surprise, after the mountain of rumours regarding a Justice League film following the upcoming Man of Steel sequel, that Warner Bros. has finally announced their plans for a Justice League film directed by Zack Snyder. Henry Cavill is expected to return as Superman, along with Ben Affleck as Batman, and Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman.
According to WB production president Greg Silverman, a Justice League script is in active development. “It will be a further expansion of this universe. Superman vs Batman will lead into Justice League.”
The Hollywood Reporter reports that the JLA movie “could bow in 2017, a year after Superman vs. Batman, which is set to hit theaters May 6, 2016.”
It seems like a big gamble to take considering that fans haven’t been very receptive to the idea of a Superman vs. Batman movie. If it fails, will Justice League succeed?
