2014 Oscar Nominations Announced


The nominations for the 86th Academy Awards were announced Thursday morning, presented by Academy President Cheryl Bone Isaacs and actor Chris Hemsworth. There aren’t many surprises in the list, except for the inclusion of Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa (who would have guessed?) in a few categories. American Hustle’ and ‘Gravity’ lead the race with 10 total nominations each.

The awards show will air March 2 from Hollywood’s Dolby Theatre. Nine films have been nominated for Best Picture, offering local movie-lovers a feast of the best of the best on the big screen, in the run-up to the Awards ceremony. They are:
