Warner Bros and Zack Snyder have found their Wonder Woman. They’ve cast Gal Gadot in the iconic role and she will be part of the upcoming Batman Vs. Superman. Rumors had been circling that the follow-up to Man of Steel wouldn’t just feature a new Batman but another classic DC character as well. Now it’s official!
“Wonder Woman is arguably one of the most powerful female characters of all time and a fan favorite in the DC Universe. Not only is Gal an amazing actress, but she also has that magical quality that makes her perfect for the role. We look forward to audiences discovering Gal in the first feature film incarnation of this beloved character,” Snyder said.
According to a few earlier reports, Gadot had been one of the frontrunners for the role, including Elodie Yung of GI Joe: Retaliation and Olga Kurylenko from Quantum of Solace.
The Batman/Superman movie begins principal photography in the first quarter of 2014 and returns Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Laurence Fishburne as Perry White and Diane Lane as Martha Kent.
