Tony Jaa Joins Fast And Furious 7

Movie News

Another day, another casting announcement. The Protector and Ong Bak Thai action star Tony Jaa will make his English-language debut in director James Wan’s upcoming sequel Fast and Furious 7. He joins the heavy-duty cast, which includes Jason Statham, in the Fast & Furious franchise for its next installment.

“I have been a big fan of the Fast and Furious franchise. The films are fast paced, fun and keep the audience involved. There is a great mix of humor and action, something I really appreciate. There is no better film to be involved in for a first U.S. studio production. Having a chance to work with Vin Diesel and The Rock already makes me a winner,” commented Jaa.

The script is still being being written by longtime franchise player Chris Morgan, so Jaa’s part in the international action pic remains unknown. If he winds up playing one of the antagonists in the film, the team are going to have their work cut out for them. James Wan, off the success of The Conjuring, is directing the movie, which will start shooting in September.
