Another day and another Man of Steel sequel casting rumour. According to the Daily Express, Pirates of the Caribbean star Orlando Bloom has been tipped to take over the role of caped crusader Batman opposite Henry Cavill in superhero blockbuster and Man of Steel sequel, Batman vs. Superman. A studio source told the Daily Express newspaper: ‘Orlando looks odds-on to get the part even before our first casting call. He would be perfect to play off Henry and I think US audiences would be happy with two Brits as the joint male leads.’ It was recently reported that producers are looking to cast an older actor in the role of Batman and his alter-ego Bruce Wayne, with actor Josh Brolin and Jim Caviezel leading the pack of contenders.
Personally, Orlando doesn’t look or act like any Batman I know. This would be a horrible casting choice for a film that already has mixed feelings with fans.
