Dredd 2 Needs Your Vote
There have been many attempts over the past year to make sufficient noise that would lead producers into signing off on a Dredd sequel. Despite a number of fans praising the film, it wasn’t met with great reviews across the board. It didn’t help matters either that the film failed to bring any return to investors’ pockets. In fact, the film made more profits from home video than it did in theatres.
At Comic-Con, over this past weekend, news broke of an ongoing petition for the sequel, which would hopefully stir some movement with Lionsgate and Rebellion, the current film rights-holders. Karl Urban, who played Judge Dredd, went on record as stating: “The more people that campaign for it, the more people that email, Twitter, write-in to Lionsgate saying ‘we want to see more of this,’ then the more likelihood we will get to see it; we’re certainly doing everything we can to make sure it happens.” You can add your name to the campaign at the official campaign site, or check out the “Make a Dredd Sequel” Facebook page.
